There is no single measurement method to determine bra size what bra size will work for every body. The only reliable way to determine bra size is to try on finished bras made from that pattern. Given the bra sizing challenge, we recommend starting by making your ready-to-wear size.
If you do not have a ready-to-wear size or at a loss for what size to start with, we offer the below sizing guidelines for our bra sewing patterns. If you have any sizing questions, feel free to contact us!

Sister sizes are bra sizes that have the same bra cup volume and underwire size. The difference between sister sizes is the size of the band. For example, the sizes 30D, 32C, 34B and 36A all have the same cup volume and use the same underwire. The difference between those sizes is the band. This blog post has instructions for how to modify the band to reach the sister sizes on this table.

For the Devonshire bra I wanted to create beautiful uplift with delicate lace. The first thing I think of for uplift from a bra are the cup seams and the underwire. Vertical seams are great for uplift and the result of the cup structure with the lace scallop edge is just gorgeous! Note, the lace version is for A to DD cup sizes and the fabric cup version is for DDD to J cup sizes for additional support and shaping.
The Devonshire bra is a supportive underwire bra featuring:
Notable Pattern Features:
Available in either A to DD or DDD to J size ranges for 30 to 40 band sizes. Please select the correct size!

Now is always the best time to buy. Everyone pays the same, best price every time. We don’t mess with sales, discounts or coupons.
All pattern pieces are separate, not nested, and clearly show the seam allowance and/or trim allowance as applicable. This allows for construction clarity and simplifies any pattern alterations.
The instructions are professionally illustrated, making the seemingly complex steps of bra construction very clear and easy to understand.
This pattern was graded by professionals who send their output directly into production so you can be extra confident that you have a great starting point for your garment.
Pattern is true to cup size, a little snug in the band. I love the lift it gives me and it does not cut into my breast tissue on top like other patterns have - i am more full-on-top. I did adjust the bridge width to be more narrow and the power mesh part of the band to give a little extra room. Directions were easy to follow. I did not include the wide strap because i hate it. My most recent make is the most comfortable bra i own.
This pattern is good for lace that has a vertical design from the scallops to the base of the frame. I have modified it so the cups have a lower dart and the scallops are unbroken across the top. I also modified the straps so they adjust in the front; I did away with the fabric front strap. It is an easily adapted pattern. I had to add several inches to the band width—a 36 in the original pattern was more like a 32. But after modifications to fit me, this is a great pattern. I have already made 4 bras from it.
I usually take size UK 38F and made the 38DDD in duoplex. The fit is very good, when l make it again I may add 1/2” onto the powernet band as my ribcage measures 38 3/4” as it is quite snug, (but probably needs to be to give support). I used a 3 high and 3 deep hook and eye as recommended in the pattern this was the right choice, as I have made other bras with a shallower back band and 2 row hook and eye which are not as comfortable. Will be making this bra again!
In the description of the pattern you can buy A to DD cup or DD to J. However, this selection DON´T cover all the patterns!!!
I bought de A to DD and I´ve received 30A to 40DD.
They should specific better. Even more because I paid in Brazilian Reais .
Perhaps I should've looked further into the sizing before purchasing but I feel a little misled by the DDD-J size range, my RTW size is 30G/H and I've measured the same in another pattern brand so I thought I was in for a treat with cup options larger than my own. only after purchasing I realised that the size I measured in this brand was a 30J so was stuck on the largest size (which ended up being still way too small in the cup). The shape seems promising so I plan to try make it work but unfortunately this wasn't the dream pattern I thought it was going to be.
